This music was written as a children’s Christmas ballet that incorporates a blend of traditional and contemporary styles in a new and exciting way.

Some time ago, I was approached by a dance company to create the music for a Christmas ballet for children that would incorporate a wide range of musical styles and dances for reindeer, elves, cherubs, candy canes, fairies, a prince and princess, and Santa, just to name a few.  Each dance is relatively short in length and hopefully the music will appeal to other dancers and their teachers.  Having taught music for K-3rd grade in a school, I know that finding appropriate material for Christmas pageants can be sometimes difficult. 

I have performed for children many times over the years and love their enthusiasm and the creativity that they bring to any show.  In the ballet, I tried to make the music child- friendly, diverse, and something that would inspire their imaginations. “The Nut Cracker” is most people’s all time favorite seasonal ballet, and I wanted my music to try and capture some of the magic of that composition.
